Five years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution. At least five publications in accredited, peer-reviewed journals.Professional route: A relevant Honours degree plus an accounting professional qualification (e.g., CA (SA), ACCA, CIMA) or a relevant Masters degree. Seven years of professional experience in the relevant field. At least five publications in accredited, peer-reviewed journals.Lecturer:Academic route: A relevant Honours degree. Three years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution. xe2x80xa2 Publications in peer reviewed and or non-peer reviewed journals will be a strong recommendation.Professional route: A relevant Honours degree. Five years of professional experience in the relevant field. Publications in peer reviewed and or non-peer reviewed journals will be a strong recommendation.Preferences will be given to candidates with the following exposure (for Senior lecturer positions)

• Teaching experience at Postgraduate level (PGDA/CTA); or
• Teaching experience at final/exit level of BCom Accounting Sciences/Bachelor Accounting (SAICA accredited) degree.

Duties: The candidate is expected to teach any of the following modules: Financial Accounting, Managerial Finance, and Taxation in the Department of Accounting and Auditing at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in accordance with the requirements of syllabi by presenting lectures, tutorials and practical's and assisting students with academic problems. Ensuring that the modules taught complies with the required academic and other standards by compiling lecture notes, study guides and practical manual for approval and that studying remains up to date. Enhancing knowledge and skills in own field to benefit students and staff by collaborating in research projects, proposing/conducting own research, attending conferences/symposia, publishing/presenting papers and developing links with other academics locally and internationally and participating in the University's community development program by preparing project proposals and leading/conducting approved projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the departmental administration by assisting with registration, selection of students, preparing and submitting budgets relevant to own field.
