Duties and responsibilities




Contribute towards creating a strong academic identity in the department. Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Psychology. Provide study guidance and supervision to postgraduate students. Initiate and conduct high-level research and sustain quality research outputs. Contribute to programme development and curriculum review within the department and faculty. Participate in and coordinate community engagement and service-learning initiatives. Recruit senior students for postgraduate study. Perform organisational and administrative duties.

Inherent Job Requirements:




Senior Lecturer



A PhD in Psychology on NQF Level 10. Proven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Psychology. Proven experience in teaching research-related and statistical-oriented modules. Proven experience in the delivery of presentations of papers/posters at national scholarly conferences. A proven research record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed national and/or international accredited journals Proven record of successful postgraduate research supervision at master's level. Expertise in various statistical software programmes, including but not limited to SPSS, R, Mplus, Python, and JASP. Demonstrated potential for obtaining an NRF rating. A good scholarly record.

Associate Professor




A PhD in Psychology on NQF Level 10. Proven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Psychology. Proven experience in teaching research-related and statistically oriented modules. Proven experience in the delivery of presentations at national and/or international conferences, as evidenced by a track record of peer-reviewed conference papers. Experience as an external examiner for postgraduate students. A proven record of publication in national and international accredited journals (at least 10 to 15 publications). Proven record of successful postgraduate research supervision at master's and/or doctoral levels. Expertise in various statistical software programmes, including but not limited to SPSS, R, Mplus, Python, and JASP. An NRF C3 rating or equivalent. Recognised nationally as an established scholar.

Professor



A PhD in Psychology on NQF Level 10. Proven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Psychology. Proven experience in teaching research-related and statistically oriented modules.
Proven experience in the delivery of presentations at national and/or international conferences, as evidenced by a track record of peer-reviewed conference papers. Proven experience in delivering keynote addresses at national scholarly conferences. Experience as an external examiner for postgraduate students, especially doctoral students. A proven record of publication in national and international accredited journals (at least 15 to 20 publications). Proven record of successful postgraduate research supervision at master's and doctoral levels. Expertise in various statistical software programmes, including but not limited to SPSS, R, Mplus.

Python, and JASP.

A minimum of an NRF C2 rating or equivalent. Nationally/internationally recognised as a leading scholar. Record of editorial board membership of high-quality national/international scholarly journals.


Recommendations




Three (3) years of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Research Psychologist (attach proof). Expertise in different research methodologies (quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods). Involvement in departmental and faculty activities.
