The candidate should have a Doctor of Laws degree or PhD in Law, five years of teaching experience in a higher education institution, or seven years of relevant professional experience. The candidate should have three publications in accredited journals or accredited book chapters.Professional route: xe2x80xa2 Candidate should have a Master of Laws degree coupled with an admission as an attorney or advocate. Candidates admitted as attorneys must attach proof of admission as an attorney, and candidates admitted as advocates must attach proof that they underwent pupillage/practical legal training for advocates, over and above proof of admission. The candidate should also have ten (10) years of post-admission practice experience. Candidates appointed through the professional route will be appointed on a five-year contract basis with the provision that the appointment will be converted to permanent upon attainment of a Doctoral degree within the five years of appointment.Lecturer:Academic route: A Master of Laws degree and two years of teaching experience.Professional route: A Master of Laws degree with five years post-admission experience. The candidate should be an admitted attorney or advocate who completed pupillage/practical legal training for advocates.Duties:To teach undergraduate modules in any two of Jurisprudence, Legal Communication Skills, Interpretation of Statutes, Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Human Rights Law, Legal Research Methodology, Administrative Law, Public International Law, Criminal LawActively participate in school and departmental activities, including committee workSenior lecturer candidates should demonstrate exemplary leadership in the Department of Public LawTo conduct research and supervise postgraduate studentsTo coordinate programmes, develop the curriculum, establish linkages with other academic institutions and community structures, and actively participate in community engagement initiatives.
