Our client is currently looking to employ a Senior Logistics Controller to their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• Computer Literate (Word / Excel (intermediate level) / Outlook).
• Business/Logistics/Export degree or similar would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Iroot for allocating pallets, bookings, day to day processing and reports is advantageous.
• Relevant experience in the fruit export industry; 3+ years.
• Intermediate numerical abilities (calculations and numerical reasoning, reconciliations).
• Accuracy, Quality, and Productivity.
• Planning and Organising.
• Problem Solving, Decision Making, Critical thinking.
• Action orientated.
• Teamwork.
• Adaptability and Flexibility.

Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
Bookings:

• Management of vessel space allocations for all markets - ensuring there is enough space allocated per vessel.
• Management of booking creation and follow up for all markets.
• Best shipping option analyses for most reliable and cost-effective option for all market.

Customer Satisfaction:

• ETA Planning.
• Framework management and follow up of order progress.
• Program and customer fulfilment.

Managing stock:

• Manage stock by balancing, checking, and allocating stock.
• Ensure that stock which is not suitable for export is flagged and alternatives made within logistics team.
• Load and protocol management.
• PO and program management.
• Stock timing - when pallets need to be packed to make desired vessel.
• Record movement of rejected stock.
• Ensuring PL are validated and sent on time.
• Overall stock management - All Markets.

Daily checks:

• Overall view of all stock for all markets.
• Stock age - Unallocated and allocated.
• Stock in transit.
• Vessel drifting.
• POD DELAYS tracking and management with Commercial.
• Transhipment tracking, updates and solutions identified.
• Key Customer fulfilment tracking.
• COD management.
• Vessel Allocation report review - Cancel or request vessel space as per week requirement.
• Documentation adherence.

Weekly/Daily Reporting:

• Cold store capacity planning.
• Transport capacity planning.
• Weekly KPI report.
• Commercial reporting.

IROOT:

• Managing and identifying improvements within the system.
• System accuracy management.
• Report accuracy management.

Invoicing:

• Approval and querying invoices - Freight/Forwarder/Special market.

General:

• Rolling plan and next day loads management.
• Support to other departments in logistical queries.
• KPI management and updates - With risk analysis.
• Budget Reporting and updates - With risk identification.
• Monthly Freight rate compiling and reporting.
• Management of temporary staff.
