Job Title: Senior Maintenance Engineer - Mining IndustryLocation: KwaZulu-Natal, South AfricaRPO Recruitment's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join their mining operations in KZN. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring the efficient operation of equipment and machinery, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize production.Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment and machinery.
• Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• Manage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure they are properly trained and equipped to carry out their duties.
• Collaborate with other department heads to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels.
• Conduct regular safety audits to identify and address any potential hazards or risks.
• Monitor equipment performance and reliability and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in maintenance engineering.

Requirements:

• BEng/BTech Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• GCC Mines & Works
• At least 8 years' relevant experience within a heavy industry/production/mining environment
• 3-5 Years' experience as a GCC Engineer
• Extensive Maintenance, Planning and Development, Hazard identification, Risk assessment, RCFA/ RCM facilitated and implemented, Procurement, Contract and Project Management experience
• Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, techniques, and technologies.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
