Senior Manager: Policy and Public Affairs Market Access ~ Management Consulting ~ Policy and Public AffairsOur client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Senior Manager: Policy & Public Affairs for Sub Sahara Africa. This pivotal role involves developing and managing strategic policy initiatives to support the company's business in the region, with a particular focus on South Africa. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance the company's objectives and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning and Implementation:

• Assess trends and policies to identify key opportunities and threats.
• Prepare informational materials for management, highlighting opportunities and potential threats.
• Develop and implement political strategies and action plans.
• Support the development of a strategic policy plan to create a favorable operating environment.
• Leverage insights to position the company as a preferred partner.

External Relations:

• Participate in advocacy functions at trade and business associations at local level.
• Establish and maintain relationships with policy makers, think tanks, and patient advocacy groups.
• Develop briefing materials for external engagements.
• Communicate on key topics such as IP, health reform, access to medicines, and pricing.

Therapeutic Area Policy:

• Develop innovative policy strategies for the launch of new assets.
• Adapt and implement global policy strategies to support access to company products.
• Support the Global Patient Advocacy team to effectively develop relationships and engage with patient groups.
• Assess the impact of the external therapeutic policy environment on business strategy.
• Maintain strict compliance with applicable policies and laws, especially those related to government interactions

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in the life sciences industry, consulting, or public policy.
• University Degree in Life Science, Medicine, Pharmacy, or Health Policy.
• Experience in policy related activities or project is desirable.
• High-level knowledge of healthcare policy and pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement issues.
• Excellent knowledge of the local healthcare system and its major players.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective and innovative solutions.
• Strong understanding of business strategy and key drivers of commercial success.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with leaders and in a cross-functional matrix environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; French is an advantage.
