Job Description


To manage the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the Public Transport
Infrastructure functionality.
Key Responsibility AreasIdentifies and defines the immediate, short- and long-term objectives/plans.
Directs and controls outcomes associated with utilisation, productivity and performance of
personnel within the Public Transport Infrastructure Branch.
Directs and controls the professional, technical and operational outcomes related to the
provision, maintenance and management of Public Transport Infrastructure.
Manages the formulation of specific contracts, Public Private Partnership Agreements and
tender documents.
Implements programmes (Rationalisation of Public Transport ranks, Taxi Recapitalisation
Programme) to drive specific initiatives related to broader public transport objectives and
functional requirements.
Disseminates strategic, functional and operational information on the immediate, short and
long term objectives and, current developments, problems and constraints.
Keeping abreast with trends, theories and practices and assessing the need to align
applications to enable conformance to quality standards and achieve efficiency and
effectiveness.
Prepares capital and operating estimates for the Branch and approves and controls project
related expenditure against the budget allocations.

Essential RequirementsBachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (NQF Level 7) in Civil
Engineering.
Registered as a professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South
Africa (ECSA).
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
8 years relevant experience of which 5 years must be post registration
Computer Literacy.
Preferred RequirementsBachelor of Science in Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Civil Engineering.
Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
