The company operates through various subsidiaries and joint ventures, serving both individual and corporate clients.The Senior Manager testing is responsible for developing and executing strategies to ensure effective quality control and test automation. The incumbent will have an in-depth understanding of project management, software engineering and agile principles, as demonstrated by experience with creating strategies, budgets and analyses. The role will include utilizing functional automation tools to extend capability of Business Acceptance Test, preparing and approving standard operating procedures, protocols and other technical documentation, supervising, managing, supporting and evaluating personnel, development of detailed test plans, and defining and executing on defect management processes, monitoring and communicating the test project status. The test manager oversees the technical controls of the test processes and measures the quality of tools and applications for optimal automation.If this sounds like a role you would be interested, reach out to for more information.Duties:

  • Create test plans and schedules in alignment with the overall project plan.
  • Prioritize and allocate tasks based on the project plan.
  • Organize and conduct weekly team meetings focused on targets and outstanding tasks.
  • Manage the performance and efficiency of the team using KPIs and standards.
  • Manage a medium-sized, possibly multi-site, test team.
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Provide feedback to senior management and project managers.
  • Prioritise testing efforts based on risk assessments.
  • Identify testing risks within and across projects, providing solutions and processes to mitigate them.
  • Implement structured approaches to test defect management and incident reporting.
  • Provide analytical support for resolving defects.
  • Review and contribute to system design documents (functional, technical, non-functional requirements).
  • Take ownership of queries, offering solutions to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report the status and progress of test phases to stakeholders and according to agreed standards.
  • Define and implement the overall test approach.
  • Apply estimating methods to determine timescales, effort, and costs for testing phases.
  • Produce test delivery plans, define milestones, and test tasks.
  • Ensure test phases have appropriate entry/exit criteria and obtain sign-off prior to Go Live.
  • Manage the performance and efficiency of the team using KPIs and standards.
  • Report test status at both detailed and management information levels.
  • Identify slippage and develop recovery strategies.
  • Own and resolve issues around the technical solution delivered into the business test environment.
  • Manage the testing process from project initiation to post-implementation review and extended wellness.
  • Determine the utilization of automation tools where applicable.
Job Experience & Skills Required:Qualifications:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Bachelors Degree in Information systems, Computer systems design, Computer science, or equivalent
  • Test Management certification or Automation Testing certifications
Experience:
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including at least 7 years in the capacity of Test Manager/Lead for a test team of at least 5 FTEs At least 8 years of experience in manual and automated software testing
  • Experience of having designed and implemented test frameworks on large s cale programmes and enhancing existing test processes
  • Strong experience on driving test strategy, detailed test plan, test cases design, test data management and full-cycle execution management Solid track record of designing and analysing formal test metrics
