Job Description


JOB PURPOSEChief custodian and manager of the 1Life brand to drive the long and short-termmarketing strategy to achieve the overall objectives for the brand. Achieve brandobjectives set to improve brand power, marketing effectiveness and targets,share of wallet and multi-product holding. Develop the communication & mediastrategy to drive the right mix of media and target identified audience andproposition development and go-to-market strategy. Gain insights and identifyopportunities/innovations based on market, customer and competitor researchand analysis to support the business strategy. Accountable for marketing budgetand associated sales to the correct P factor. Guide the commercial andoperations teams to drive growth and influence the tailored customer experienceacross the value chain and negotiate with management, agency and partners.RESPONSIBILITIESBrand Strategy and EffectivenessDevelop and drive the 1Life marketing strategy. Have a strong commercialunderstanding that aligns business and marketing strategy. Develop and drivethe digital, media and other marketing mix strategies to deliver on thecommunication strategy.Marketing CommunicationsLead and coordinate the development and delivery of marketing communicationsstrategy across all stakeholders to support the business plan and deliver againstprofit targets. Drive brand prominence and positive perception.Performance ManagementManage and report on performance of the brand and deliver to the targets set.Set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold themaccountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action wherenecessary.Leadership and DirectionSet and communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the 1Lifemission, vision and values; clarify the actions needed to implement it within thearea of responsibility. Drive internal marketing culture and employeeengagement.Stakeholder EngagementIdentify and manage stakeholders up to top management level, finding out theirneeds/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating thedevelopment of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication ofbusiness information and decisions.Manage external stakeholder relationships with Media partners and Agencies.Budgeting and CostingTake responsibility for setting and managing function budgets so they align withorganisational strategy.Marketing Impact AssessmentDefine appropriate metrics, assess activities, and recommend improvementsbased on metrics and analyses.Identify and interpret complex patterns, competitor analysis, trends, andtranslating those insights into the marketing strategy.Organisational Capability BuildingUse the organisation's formal development framework to identify the team'sindividual development needs.
