One of our diagnostic pathology clients are urgently in need of an experienced and registered Medical Scientist to join their Braamfontein team.Qualifications and experience:MSc in Medical Science or relatedHPCSA registered as a Medical Scientist in Anatomical PathologyNo less than 3 years' experience in role as a Medical ScientistMust have project experience, where you led project protocol with evidence of co-managing financesNo less than 1 year of peer reviewed journal manuscripts / book chapter as 1st Author or at least 2 Co-authorised publicationsProven track record of successfully supervised undergrad and post-grad students - Bsc Hons, Msc.Must have funding experience, development in validation of new tests, product standard and complex reportsKnowledge of lab instrumentsKnowledge of interpreting numerical lab resultsFamiliar with competency evaluationsPLUS - presented at national and internationalGreat track record as 2 reference checks will be conducted upfrontKey skills:CommunicationPresentationAdminProblem solvingLeadershipResearchInterpersonalAttention to detailNumericalAdvanced computer literacyAble to work under high pressureKey performance areas:Gross specimen macroscopy of uncomplicated excision specimensManage electron microscopy unitDevelop and validate new diagnostic methodology of significant modifications to existing scientific applicationsQuality managementPerform equipment maintenanceConduct root cause analysisDevelop and validate new testsEnhance SOP'sConduct tests, interpret and authorise resultsTrain and supervise staffCo-manage research and development with a medical scientist / pathologist
