Support, implement and maintain all network related activities such as troubleshooting hardware, software and LAN related problems
Additionally, they will support the company network and be an integral part of new network cabling installations and support including the supervision of cabling technicians on and off site
Location:
Parktown, Johannesburg (Regular travel to other sites)
Key performance areas:
Leading and managing cabling projects from inception to completion
Manage installation, maintenance and repairs within scope of work and timeline
Conducting of regular inspections and audits to cabling work to ensure quality, compliance and functionality
Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling
Manage tickets according to client SLA and ensure turnaround times are adhered to
Management of stock according to standard operating procedures and relevant policies
Maintain accurate records to document processes and generate all required administration within deadlines
Staff management such as attending to staffing requirements and administration
Required minimum education and training:
Networking or relevant IT Qualification
Valid driver's license
Required minimum work experience:
5 or more years proven experience as network technician or equivalent position
Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
CNCI qualifications are strongly recommended
Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communication skills
Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
Excellent technical IT support skills are necessary with good organisational skills
Must be proactive and able to exercise discretion and independent decision-making
Must be able to prioritize own work load and work to meet deadlines
Self-motivated, proactive and be able to work independently as well as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team
Assertive, confident and adaptable
Must be able to take ownership of all allocated functions and projects
Demonstrate strong customer service expertise and ability to interact with all levels of customers
High level verbal and written communication skills especially about the latest computer related information
May work unusual working hours and travel frequently due to several projects being off site
