Senior Nurse/professional Nurse
Job Description
The Senior Nurse, a registered Professional Nurse, takes control of the entire healthcare facility. The Senior Nurse implements and oversees all clinical and nursing processes and care of the healthcare facility with the assistance of duty sisters.
Further to that, the Senior Nurse liaises with the medical professionals, and families of residents. The Senior Nurse also plays a pivotal role in the marketing of the facility to ensure full occupancy at all times.
Their overall job is making sure every aspect of running a home is done not only professionally but in keeping with health and safety regulations and that patients are comfortable and well taken care of.
At least 5-10 years of experience in nursing, experience in geriatrics advantageous, experience in a similar leadership position highly advantageous, recent hospital experience
o Ability to use initiative and lead a team
o Ability to motivate self and empower others Ability to problem solve and work autonomously, prioritizing simple and complex tasks
o Able to effectively manage personal and work related pressures.
o Ability to lead a team, professional and focused
o Compassion for the elderly.
o Be able to converse with people on different levels - staff, families, MDT and other professionals coming into the facility.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
