Company DescriptionThe purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration, and knowledge management through the deployment, support, and maintenance of enterprise technology, infrastructure, applications and mine technical systems.Operational technology or OT is a category of computing and communication systems to manage, monitor, and control industrial operations with a focus on the physical devices and processes they use.The individual will be responsible for the analysis and support of all Operational Technology (OT) technical systems focusing on the network environment. Duties include input into the design and development of a scalable and highly available network. This includes initial problem definition and clarification through diagnostic testing and engaging with team members and external suppliers to follow through to resolution.KEY RESULT AREASPerformance and Delivery

• Understands the interactions between systems and the key factors that lead to effective, efficient IT/OT network infrastructure .
• Solves technical and operational problems and applies process design and improvement thinking to meet customer needs and drive efficiencies.
• Applies Governance and Compliance knowledge to organisational processes and procedures and understands how governance, risk and compliance processes impact on the business also considering relevant industry regulations and standards to support industrial network security.
• Building relationships and fostering cross boundary collaboration. Actively brings people together to deliver.
• Deepening self-awareness and applying influencing techniques that gain commitment and support.
• Evaluating information, good decision making, manage risk, drive safe, reliable and sustainable operations and protect the license to operate Makes decisions using both a sense of what is correct and logical.
• Exhibits deep technical knowledge in area of expertise and actively transfers knowledge to strengthen the skill base across the function; considers the most appropriate use of technical resources to ensure skill development and optimization of resource allocation.

• Applies an in-depth understanding of the mining value chain to identify and execute on opportunities where technical expertise can enhance business performance. Engages cross-functional teams to share best practice, ensuring technical excellence and sustainable commercial decisions.

• Manages relationships with external vendors and service providers ensuring value and performance.

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:

• Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
• Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical abilities.
• Experience in applying and implementing best practice principles.
• Proven experience writing detailed methods of procedure and maintain documentation including the creation of Visio drawings or Lucid drawings.
• Understanding of advanced level hands-on configuration of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers.
• Advanced level knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including - Spanning-Tree, VLANs, QinQ, Dot1q
• Advanced level knowledge of traffic prioritization technologies and techniques including - QoS, TOS, COS, LLQ, CBWFQ, WFQ, Shaping, Policing, MPLS-VPN QoS.
• A good understanding of Rajant networks and mesh technologies.
• Advanced level knowledge of Cloud Networking technologies is strongly preferred.
• Ability to adhere to stringent deadlines.
• Knowledge and understanding of integrated systems.
• Play a lead role in managing project tasks within area of responsibility and provide efficient feedback on any actions.
• Provide after-hours support in the form of standby.
• Must be able to work without supervision.
• High motivation level and an appetite for fast-paced team environment; readily adaptable to changing market and organization requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and when necessary, step in to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Create and update processes as needed to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
• Knowledge of application and network infrastructure protocols.
• Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.

• Should have hands on experience in Enterprise LAN Setup and troubleshooting. Uses industry standard testing and diagnosis to resolve faults in the networking environment..

• Will own Network operations, Incident management, Change Management, problem management.
• Good organisational skills.
• Manage relationships with vendors/consultants, IM/OT teams and internal stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of Information Technology & Operational Technology.
• Client Orientation- Collaborate, develop relationships and network with all stakeholders ensuring optimum service delivery of the discipline and the organization.
• Asset Management experience.
• Analysis and interpretation of information.
• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures and the important role of consistently demonstrating required behaviors and championing safety values.
• Develops and manages a budget for network related projects, operations and improvements.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification.
• National Diploma (Computer Science or Information Technology) or any related qualification.
• ITIL Foundation Certificate.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) would be advantageous.
• Certified professional with (any of): CCNP/CCIE [Cisco Systems]
• 10 years IT network experience with at least one year in a Supervisory role.
• Expertise in configuration and management of Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series, Cisco 6500/4500/3800/3600 Series LAN switches.
• Code 08 (EB) driver's license.
• Medical fitness as per inherent requirements of the job
• Security cleared as per company requirements and verification of qualifications.
