Senior Payroll Specialist Human Resources
Johannesburg - Gauteng - South AfricaOur medical devices client is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage the full payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing and recording of payroll data. This role is crucial to ensuring personnel receive the correct compensation on time while meeting all statutory requirements.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Matric/Grade 12
• Payroll qualification or relevant tertiary qualification
• 5-7 years of payroll experience, with at least 3-5 years managing payroll end to end
• Proficiency in Accsys Payroll, Peopleware, or a similar payroll system

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Manage and configure Accsys payroll and Peopleware system
• Process payroll for production, management, and admin staff (weekly and monthly wages)
• Ensure legal compliance and handle statutory submissions
• Provide payroll admin support
• Develop and update policies and SOPs for the payroll department
• Train stakeholders on new or updated SOPs and policies
• Update the organogram monthly
• Conduct monthly payroll system audits
• Administer employee shifts and ensure process compliance
• Assist Line Management with clocking data and employee clocking behaviour
• Capture and verify manual timesheets; manage clocking data
• Import data to payroll and manage the integrity of payroll records
• Manage third-party data for Finance payments
• Administer Momentum portal fund reconciliation
• Update and maintain leave records on ESS
• Manage leave profiles and provide leave balance reporting
• Provide monthly employee statistics to the HR Director
• Assist HR with onboarding, offboarding, and ad-hoc requests
• Process monthly payroll and maintain payroll system control
• Handle SARS records, VAT, PAYE, and WCA submissions
• Assist with Employment Equity and BEE submissions

They must be able to detect errors proactively, work effectively under pressure, and demonstrate proficiency in payroll systems such as Accsys and Peopleware.
