What will you do?



We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Tester Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our fintech applications. The role requires expertise in performance testing tools, data creation, and web services testing, along with strong UFT & Java programming skills.

What will make you successful in this role?


Design, develop, and execute performance test strategies and test plans. Utilize LoadRunner and JMeter to conduct performance, load, stress, and scalability testing. Automate performance tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. Develop and maintain performance test scripts using LoadRunner, JMeter, and UFT. Work closely with developers, business analysts, and DevOps teams to analyse system performance and identify bottlenecks. Create and manage test data for performance testing, ensuring realistic test conditions. Test messaging queues (MQ), HTTP, and web services to validate system reliability under various conditions. Utilize Java programming to enhance automation frameworks and performance testing processes. Analyse test results, generate detailed performance reports, and provide recommendations for system improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance meets business requirements. Advocate for shifting performance testing left by integrating performance considerations early in the development lifecycle. Work with developers to build performance-focused unit tests and embed performance validation in CI/CD pipelines. Liaise between technical (Automation, Developers) and non-technical personal (Analysts, Business owners, Managers) Plan projects, define scope, automation effort, resources of automation for new projects. Qualification
Matric An appropriate testing tertiary qualification will be a strong recommendation




Experience




5+ years of experience in performance testing within a fintech or similar domain. Expertise in LoadRunner, JMeter, and UFT for performance and automation testing. Experience in data creation and management for test scenarios. MQ (Message Queues), HTTP, and Web Services testing experience. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for identifying performance bottlenecks. Experience with shifting performance testing left to identify issues early in development. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment. Experience in fintech applications or financial transaction systems.




Knowledge




Strong understanding of performance engineering principles and methodologies. Proficiency in Java programming for scripting and automation. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance tests into DevOps workflows. Knowledge of cloud-based performance testing solutions is a plus. Good working knowledge of Testing best practices, techniques, artefacts and testing frameworks. Working knowledge of Test Reporting and Metrics. Understanding of system architectures such as Client / Server, Service orientated architecture, Web based architecture, would be advantageous Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with database performance testing and SQL queries.
