The primary focus of this role includes developing procurement policies, sourcing suppliers, maintaining supplier relationships, and drafting contracts. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with procurement standards, optimize procurement workflows, and drive cost-effective purchasing while leading the procurement team.CRITICAL OUTPUTS

  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies and procedures.
  • Manage the purchasing of capital goods, operational goods, and services in alignment with business needs.
  • Source and negotiate contracts for national, regional, and local suppliers, ensuring compliance with preferential procurement standards.
  • Develop and maintain a supplier database, qualify suppliers, and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Oversee contract drafting, negotiation, administration, and renewals while ensuring competitive pricing.
  • Monitor procurement workflows, supplier performance, and adherence to procurement policies.
  • Lead the procurement team, ensuring performance management and service excellence.
  • Provide accurate procurement reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or Procurement.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience in a procurement environment, preferably in the private sector.
  • At least two years of experience in a management role.
  • Advanced knowledge of contracts and contract law.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Procurement experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Procurement Management Systems and preferential procurement practices.
