We are looking for a Senior Project Architect or Senior Professional Architectural Technologist to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Project Architect or Senior Professional Architectural Technologist, you will play a critical role in leading and delivering a variety of retail and mixed-use architecture projects from initial concept design through to construction and completion. You will be responsible for not only overseeing the technical aspects of the projects but also mentoring junior team members, liaising with clients, and ensuring that all project milestones are met on time and within budget.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with an architectural vision combined with strong technical proficiency and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the architectural design and delivery of multiple retail and mixed-use projects simultaneously, ensuring creative, technical, and regulatory standards are met.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with clients, developers, contractors, and other key stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide design solutions, and manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design Development: Lead the production of design drawings, schematic designs, and working drawings using Revit, ensuring that all technical and design aspects align with the clients vision and project goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop detailed technical and construction drawings in Revit, coordinate with engineers, consultants, and suppliers to ensure the highest level of precision in documentation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local building codes, zoning laws, and industry standards throughout the project phases, from design development to completion.
  • Construction Coordination: Oversee the tender process, collaborate with the construction team during the build phase, conduct site visits, and address any on-site issues, ensuring that the construction meets design and quality specifications.
  • Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Provide leadership to junior architects and technologists, offering guidance, technical advice, and support. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and professional growth within the team.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Work closely with project managers and Quantity Surveyors to manage project costs and schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience working on retail or commercial building projects. Experience in large-scale, complex projects is highly desirable.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Revit is essential, with a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality Revit documentation and 3D modelling skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology, or equivalent qualification.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading project teams and managing multi-disciplinary collaboration on large-scale retail and mixed use projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building systems, construction techniques, and materials, with the ability to produce detailed construction documentation.
  • Regulatory Understanding: Comprehensive knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards, ensuring designs meet all legal and environmental requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present and defend design ideas to clients and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex design and construction challenges, ensuring the delivery of practical and creative solutions on-site and during design development.
