Job Description

The Senior Quality Assurance and Accreditations Officer works in the Academic Quality Assurance (AQuA) Office at WBS in the areas of quality assurance, accreditation, programme review and general administration. The scope of work is varied, and the requirements changing, and will require the candidate to interact and work with stakeholders at all levels across the Wits Business School, and to take responsibility for certain functions within the AQuA Office.

Key responsibilities

Accreditation Administration and Support: including:


Coordinate the capture and validation of all accreditations, QA and reporting data in the appropriate systems, with a specific focus on the accreditation software systems. Undertake scheduled annual audits and updates of data with the Accreditation Manager. Provide project coordinator support for accreditation reporting and visits, including minutes of meetings, document management, and occasional writing, editing, and proof-reading. Assurance of Learning (AOL)

Manage the operational aspects of the school's Assurance of Learning, including liaison with Programme Directors to ensure that AOL is undertaken according to schedule and data capture, basic analysis and reporting. Ongoing support and training of academic faculty and support staff on AOL. Quality Assurance

Coordinate and implement Annual Reporting for all office and work units to support and drive good record-keeping practices underpinning continuous improvement. Consolidate final Annual Report working with WBS communications. Provide coordination and administrative assistance to programme and course reviews, QQRs, etc. Oversee the upload of all external examiner reports and lecturer and course evaluations for both academic programmes and Executive Education courses.

Minimum academic and job requirements



An Honours degree (NQF 8) or higher. A Masters degree is an advantage. 5 years of work experience with at least two years in quality assurance, project, or programme management in academic higher education institutions or related higher education institutions or bodies. Knowledge of HEQSF and Higher Education QA related policies Accreditation knowledge and experience (an advantage)
