Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in the multi-disciplinary building industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring that costs are managed effectively and projects are completed on time and within budget.Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, and time.
  • Negotiate and agree on the contracts and terms with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budget adherence.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and assess project adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Provide accurate and timely cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Manage and administer contracts, including evaluating and processing payments, variations, and claims.
  • Advise on procurement strategy and manage the procurement process.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and present them to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g. PrQS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the multi-disciplinary building industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as MS Office, CCS Candy, and BuildSmart.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
