Calling All Reinsurance Professionals!Are you a dedicated finance professional with a passion for reinsurance accounting and a knack for precision?
Our client, a premier leader in commercial risk management across Southern Africa, invites you to join their dynamic team. As a Reinsurance Accounting Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and optimising the reinsurance accounting function, ensuring accuracy and providing critical insights to the leadership team.
Submit your CV toDuties:

• Perform reinsurance technical accounting tasks.
• Maintain general ledger, including preparation of journal entries and account analysis.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reinsurance reports to stakeholders.
• Work closely with the Finance department.
• Liaise with the Reinsurance Underwriting department.
• Submit quarterly technical accounts to reinsurance brokers and reinsurers.
• Reconcile all reinsurance accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of treaty statistics.
• Support testing and implementation of reports on the new reinsurance system.
• Streamline processes to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with Functional Business Heads.
• Engage with reinsurers and brokers.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting
• BCom Honours

Experience:

• At least 5 years experience in finance roles within the insurance industry.
• Must have experience in reinsurance.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of financial principles and reinsurance accounting.
• Effective team player with the ability to work across departments.
• High level of accuracy and organisational skills.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
