Minimum requirements



PhD in one of the following: urban geography, urban studies, planning, or an aligned discipline At least 5 years of teaching/professional Evidence of research and postgraduate supervision, Experience in running projects, ideally with a team. Experience in doing engaged/participatory research. Evidence of generating grant funding.

Additional requirements



NRF Rated Able to speak isiZulu. Links to urban studies centers locally, nationally, and globally. Be comfortable with managing externally funded projects. Experience in working with/for government bodies. An interest in policy development and implementation.


Summary of Duties



Research project development and management Publishing DHET-accredited outputs Running a seminar program Teaching one undergraduate course for the Engineering and Built Environment students. Grant writing and management Administration relevant to research and supervision Knowledge dissemination nationally and internationally Participation in university committees Supervision of postgraduate students
