Dean of LawVarsity College and IIE MSA are educational brands of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).The IIE Varsity College National Office has a vacancy for a Senior Researcher. The successful incumbent will be responsible for lecturing primarily in public international law and/or procedural law within the faculty, conducting research, providing postgraduate supervision, and contributing to community engagement and the administrative functioning of the facultyDuties and Responsibilities:Teaching and Module development

• Responsible for teaching module development, design and assessment of law modules
• Facilitate teaching and learning of students in the area of public international or procedural law
• Mentor academics
• Contribute to programme management and curriculum development

Research

• Responsible for quality and successful student supervision that focuses on public international or procedural law
• Contributing to research outputs
• Publishing in accredited journals
• Providing research mentoring to postgraduate students
• Contribute to the creation of knowledge through research and publications

Community Engagement

• Lead community-based Research entails research projects that make a significant contribution to a community in the form of services, products and/or new knowledge and skills transfer.
• Contribute and perform some of the faculty's administrative duties and projects
• Contribute to the academic and community engagement of the faculty strategy.

• Excellent written and presentation
• Writing (Research)
• Inter-personal and mentorship

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• An LLD or PhD in Public international or Procedural Law and research supervision experience

Minimum Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years' experience in lecturing , teaching , research and 3 years community engagement within the Higher Education environment.
• Proven track record of teaching law students and research with a Public or Procedural Law focus.
• Accredited research output.
• The ideal candidate will have strong academic leadership skills, a deep understanding of teaching methods (including online), and a successful history of supervising postgraduate students.

Special Requirements :

• Provision of student and lecturer support in the Post Graduate space, which may mean, from time to time, attending evening class and Saturday morning class lectures for review
