Senior Resident Engineer

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert supervision and management of road refurbishment and rehabilitation projects.
- Oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, contractual obligations, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality assurance checks, and progress reporting.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Lead and coordinate a team of Engineers, Technicians, and site personnel.
- Ensure adherence to relevant engineering standards (SANRAL, SANS, etc.) and local authority requirements.
- Resolve technical issues on-site and liaise with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Junior Engineers.
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) Essential.
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years experience in roads refurbishment/rehabilitation projects.
- Strong knowledge of bitumen, asphalt resurfacing, pavement rehabilitation, and drainage systems.
- Previous experience working on SANRAL or municipal road projects is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in FIDIC, GCC, or NEC contract administration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
