Job Description

The department of risk oversees that the risk-reward profile of the trade books is fully understood by senior management as well as that the business's physical exposure is valued correctly. A key responsibility of this role is managing junior risk managers while undertaking your own risk management duties. In addition to providing support, the Senior Risk Analyst should also be proactive with their communication with risk management and traders.Responsibilities:

• Ensuring accurate and prompt entry and maintenance of physical and derivative trades
• Calculating and running daily risk reports, including profit and loss calculations
• Providing assistance in developing systems, processes, and reports
• Maintaining effective communication with traders and senior management about results
• Making sure reports and measurements reflect issues identified and are communicated proactively
• Ad hoc duties as needed

Education:

• Degree in Mathematics / Finance / Economics (Honours Degree preferred)

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• 3 to 7 years' experience in financial services, or commodities trading
• VBA and Python coding skills are advantageous
• Experience managing a team and mentoring junior members is preferred
• A high level of numeracy, as well as analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills required, with the ability to understand different perspectives and convey complex ideas to various audiences
• Capable of constructively challenging proposals to ensure their robustness while maintaining positive working relationships
• Able to work well in a team, flexibly managing a diverse range of issues
• Must work independently with a focus on practical business benefits, often under tight deadlines
