Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing effective marketing strategies and analyzing market trends and results, specifically within the meat industry.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories, projecting expected sales volume and profit for both existing and new meat products.
  • Implement national sales programs by developing comprehensive field sales action plans tailored to the meat market.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by staying current with supply and demand dynamics, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitor activities in the meat sector.
  • Establish and adjust selling prices based on ongoing monitoring of costs, competitive landscape, and market demand for meat products.
  • Ensure operational requirements of the national sales team are met by scheduling and assigning tasks, and following up on work results.
  • Maintain a high-performing national sales team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees in meat sales techniques and industry specifics.
  • Foster the professional growth and development of the sales team by providing ongoing counseling, discipline when necessary, and regular performance appraisals.
  • Stay updated on professional and technical knowledge relevant to the meat industry through participation in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, and networking within professional societies.
  • Contribute to the overall team effort by achieving related results as needed, collaborating with cross-functional teams as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Commerce (BCom) with a specialization in Marketing or Sales is required.
  • Significant experience in sales within the meat industry, with a strong understanding of meat sales cycles, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market penetration in the meat sector.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to sell to customer needs effectively.
  • Motivation for sales achievement, strategic sales planning expertise, and proficiency in managing sales processes.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of managing and inspiring a sales team to exceed goals and objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of market dynamics, competitor activities, and economic factors influencing the meat industry.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets to achieve financial targets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across various organizational levels.
