Job Description


The Senior Sales manager - heavy commercial Trucks is responsible for managing and maintaining current business relationships and seeking new accounts through sales, marketing, and referrals. The Sales manager reviews the existing accounts of clients, studies trends, and analyzes the competition. The Sales Managers analyzes the companys communication strategy, negotiations and contracts to identify trends that can improve organizational procedures. The role is also responsible for the brand identification and management.

  • Manage all aspects of the sales process, including purchasing agreements, issuing sales contracts, and handling demos and product introductions.
  • Provide quotes to clients and dealers, issue proforma invoices, track proof of payment, and issue tax invoices.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with dealers across the country.
  • Utilize market data to establish sales goals and identify potential new customers (retail and corporate).
  • Foster relationships with clients, key suppliers, and partners to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Educate clients about the company's products, services, and special offers.
  • Address client complaints, conduct satisfaction surveys, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to meet client expectations.
  • Network with potential business partners and clients.
  • Develop presentations for various audiences (business partners, executives, shareholders).
  • Conduct research to identify new customers and market opportunities.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitor performance.
  • Develop and maintain the brand identity and online presence, leveraging social media for business growth.
  • Promote high-sales and good customer service practices while maintaining a positive company image.
  • Maximize sales and profitability through customer satisfaction and retention to meet sales forecasts.
  • Develop a sales organization to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
  • Manage vehicle inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Control departmental costs within budget.
  • Ensure adequate product display material is available.
  • Monitor departmental financial performance.
  • Manage customer complaints efficiently to deliver a great client experience.
  • Meet departmental customer satisfaction/expectation targets.
  • Manage key accounts, government tenders, and upcoming projects.
  • Control direct and indirect costs within company parameters.
  • Establish staffing levels and training required to achieve sales objectives.
  • Oversee all floorplan activities.
  • Update stock list reports and communicate stock availability to the accountant.
  • Assist with dealer expansion proposals and develop/manage in-house financing models.
  • Help clients secure financing from accredited financial institutions.
  • Expand the dealer network and establish joint dealership ventures.
  • Stay abreast of competitor offerings.
  • Organize and attend truck exhibitions/events relevant to the industry (mining, agriculture, construction).
  • Manage online media campaigns, sponsorships, advertising agencies, and product launches.
  • Possess a solid understanding of finance.
  • Prepare and submit tender applications on time.
  • Track and provide market updates based on truck sales trends.
  • Travel extensively to visit dealerships and clients across the Africa Region.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS: -
  • Matric + Degree in Sales/Business Management/Marketing (or a related tertiary qualification)
  • Proven heavy truck sales management experience/sales track (experience with internet leads/sales a plus)
  • Proven experience in customer relations and commercial sales
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics.
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and good mathematical skills
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Familiarity with Mandarin language a plus (as clients may have limited English proficiency)
  • Experience working in a company with a Chinese culture (a plus)
  • Understanding of economics and current market trends (as they influence sales)
  • Experience in collaborative working relationship with the various stake holders.
  • Clear and concise communication skills in English due to potential language barriers.
  • Patient and able to work with staff with limited English proficiency.
