Senior Security Operations Centre (soc) Specialist

Job Description
The SOC Analyst is responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents to protect the organization's information assets. This role involves working in a 24/7 operations center, analyzing security events, and coordinating with other teams to mitigate threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Security Systems: Continuously monitor security alerts and events from various sources (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls). Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, network intrusions, and data breaches. Threat Analysis: Analyse and assess potential security threats and vulnerabilities. Reporting: Document and report security incidents and findings to relevant stakeholders. Collaboration: Work with IT and other departments to implement security measures and improve overall security posture. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest security trends, tools, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a security operations or similar role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS). Knowledge of network protocols and security technologies. Experience with incident response and forensic analysis. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
