Prepare detailed site planning, implementation and integration of the Network Security Systems
Plan and implement network LLD (low level designs) and solutions
Evaluate system architecture and recommend system improvements to other engineering departments and suppliers
Test and evaluate new infrastructure and software features and releases for Network Security Systems
Provide high-level support for Network Security Systems
Interface with vendors and other divisions in Vodacom including to support the organisation operational targets.
Interface with Service providers and suppliers to resolve critical service incidents
Trouble ticket management according to current policies and procedures.
Perform Integration, Testing and Configuration Management for Network platforms (routers and switches) according to approved Change Management procedures
Your responsibilities will include:
Support
Provide high-level support for Core Data Networks (CDN) systems
Perform systems and configuration testing
Plan and execute configuration changes on routers and switches
Evaluate and implement system OS software releases for routers and switches.
Engage with engineering, regional operations and NMG network performance teams to understand and address network concerns.

Engage with engineering and regional operations teams to define service requirements
Evaluate system architecture and recommend system improvements
Compile detailed system design and implementation plans
Compile and keep site documentation up to date.
Audit the site configurations and ensure alignment to architecture standards
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
A bachelor's degree or 3-year diploma in
Information Technology or Electrical
Engineering (Essential) with 5 years experience in the Telecommunications or
Information Technology industry and/or
An advanced Networking Certification
Network Security Protocols and Services
Firewall Architectures and Operations
QoS
Analysing and Decision Making
Problem solving and logical thinking
