SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-known insurance company is recruiting for a forward-thinking Senior Systems Engineer to join their team.POSITION INFO:
Senior System Engineer
In Office, SandtonRequirements:

• Minimum 7+ years of relevant professional experience
• Proficiency in cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS
• Expertise in system architecture design, documentation, and consulting
• Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) such as InfiniDat, PureStorage, and DellEMC
• Experience with Brocade Zoning
• Proficiency in Network Attached Storage (NAS)
• Advanced skills in Active Directory implementation, maintenance, and support, including Azure AD
• Experience with security certificate management and deployments, including Wildcard certificates
• Familiarity with Secure FTP (Cerberus is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Licensing
• Experience with reverse proxy setup, static page hosting, and Fortinet
• Familiarity with MPLS and IP routing
• Expertise in Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Load balancing experience (Kemp is a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server OS (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Failover Clustering and High Availability technologies
• Understanding of API and integration key concepts
• Scripting/programming skills, especially in PowerShell and C#
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware
• Proficiency in MS Exchange (2019)
• Understanding of SMTP and POP3 protocols
• Familiarity with HTML
• Experience with MailMarshal
• Proficiency in Terminal Services
• Strong cloud platform experience with Azure and AWS

KPAs:

• The system engineering team is responsible for managing both Windows and Linux environments, as well as identifying and resolving technical issues. The team also provides support for servers, databases, networks, storage, communication systems, and their security.
• As a Senior System Engineer, your role is to proactively design, implement, and maintain services that ensure reliable business operations, with a focus on the Microsoft Windows and Linux server ecosystems.
