As a dynamic, knowledgeable and deeply experienced Senior Systems Analyst, we'd love you to join our vibrant technology team, adding your impact to support local and international digital health projects in the public health technology sector.

The Senior Systems Analyst works with current systems, designs new systems, and enhances the legacy environment. You will need to be proactive, should be able to communicate with both business and technical stakeholders, and be able to adapt to different technology stacks. This role has a strong focus on system interoperability and requires a person with extensive knowledge and experience in system integration design and documentation, using recognised international standards.

As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will work closely with the Lead Analyst by supporting Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR)xc2xae leadership within the Technical Assistance Partner (TAP) consortium, driving FHIRxc2xae capacity building and training initiatives; representing Jembi during in-country engagements and developing all required FHIRxc2xae artifacts. While this capacity will not be limited to FHIR activities, this will be the starting point.

Required skills & experience

3 -5 years or more proven work experience as a system analyst/developer or related function in a relevant domain

Degree or recognised qualification in Informatics (Software Development or System Analysis)

Experience with agile software development methodologies

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Demonstrated analytical skills

Problem solving and strong communication skills

Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel

As a health system analyst, you will be expected to have a working knowledge of software development and programming, as well as knowledge of design and modelling of software applications

Ability to liaise both with stakeholders and internal business, technical and implementer teams

Strong background in digital health (advantageous)

Experience with planning and product delivery management software such as JIRA (advantageous)

Experience working in the public health sector (advantageous)

Clearly articulate and document business processes, user and functional requirements

Produce a Business and User Requirements Specification

Obtain key inputs from architecture and technical teams to identify solution interdependencies

Document the technical specifications in collaboration with the technical team

Produce the Technical Systems Specification

Collaborate with Architects on solution design and support the Architect/Technical lead during architectural discussions

Collaborate with Data Analysts on Data analysis

Support the development of Quality Assurance (QA) testing strategiesCommunicate business requirements to the technical team

Translate the business requirements into user stories (in JIRA) for hand over to the development team. These user stories must include acceptance criteria

Perform functional testing

Support the User Acceptance Testing Process

Provide input to Training and User documentation

Provide input to System and User Support

Provide input to project plans and resourcing plans

Provide input to implementation activities

Design appropriate training courses

Develop training materials

Conduct end user training and assessment

Conduct train-the-trainer sessions

Writing and implementing efficient code as required by the Lead Analyst

Collaborate with Developers by determining operational practicality

Developing quality assurance procedures as identified by the Lead Analyst

Deploying software tools, processes, and metrics as identified by the Lead Analyst

Maintaining and upgrading existing systems as identified by the Lead Analyst
