Job Description


:Key Performance OutputThe successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager Mechanical Maintenance and will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Provide input into the development of maintenance planning programme and execution thereof.
  • Utilisation of relevant software system.
  • Participate in failure investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Assist with first line diagnostic, troubleshooting of technical faults.
  • Ensure implementation of continuous improvement of the equipment/infrastructure.
  • Conduct studies and make recommendations on upgrades/replacements of assets.
  • Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
  • Manage Service Level Agreement (maintenance and supply).
  • Conduct continuous Audit and quality control (activities and contractual) and implement remedial action where required.
  • Prepare, specify, scope of work and technical requirements.
  • Provide input to and manage allocated budget.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives within area of control.
  • Compile and submit relevant reports.
  • Identify and report possible efficiency enhancements and initiatives to ensure resource savings.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders on report findings.
  • Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions where required to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
  • Plan, schedule, supervise and coach subordinate activities within processes or services to achieve efficiency and quality goals.
  • Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive working environment.
Technical Skills and ExperienceThe following skills and experience will be required:
  • Bachelors Degree (3 years - 360 credits) NQF level 7 in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Industrial Engineering is essential.
  • 5 years operational experience in Infrastructure Maintenance is essential.
  • ECSA registration is recommended.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office, SCADA and PLC required..
  • Valid Code B drivers licence is required.
