Job Description

A well-established laboratory equipment and consumables company requires the above to ensure quality technical service provided to all customers, in the quickest possible turnaround time and support the team with customers on-site and in-house repairs, installation, maintenance and operator training.Minimum requirements for the role:

• Grade 12 as well as an electrical/mechanical engineering diploma/degree is essential for this role.
• Previous experience having worked as a Service Technician within scientific/laboratory environment is beneficial.
• Must have a valid driverxe2x80x99s license.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages (Excel, Word, Power Point).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring quality technical service provided to all customers, in the quickest possible turnaround time and support the team with customers on-site and in-house repairs, installation, maintenance and operator training.
• Ensuring that customers are happy with after-sales service and are being kept updated on any repairs or correspondence on a regular basis.
• Working closely with the sales team and visit customers at various sites with regards to technical trouble shooting and queries on instrumentation.
• Liaising with customers on an ongoing basis to ensure that all urgent matters are attended to promptly.
• Ensuring that all services and repairs on equipment is completed efficiently and effectively.
• Introducing new products or replacement products for all laboratory equipment at customer sites.
• Installing, commissioning and handling all preventative maintenance of all equipment on-site.
• Performing fault finding on all equipment at customer sites.
• Providing customer and staff training on all equipment.
