Through our people, leadership development, services, technology and scale, Wabtec delivers better outcomes for global customers by speaking the language of industry.Post: SHE OfficerNumber of Positions: 1 PositionDepartment: Environmental Health and SafetyReporting to: SHEQ Manager, Wabtec, South AfricaReporting Relationship: NonePrimary Purpose of Role: To support WSA & FIP Brakes sites and legal requirements related to Safety, Health, and Environment.Primary Objectives:Do regular audits and reporting on findings, keep record of all SHE activitiesCollaborate with production personnel to identify, define, and solve SHE problemsConduct daily inspections and attend to day-to-day SHE issuesCompile weekly and monthly SHE reportsConduct Monthly site reviewsMaintain certifications of SHE reps, fire fighters, first aiders, forklift drivers, etc.Control SHE consumablesFormal Education/TrainingSHE qualification is mandatory (ISO 18001, 45001, SAMTRAC, etc.)Essential work skills5 xe2x80x93 10 years SHE experienceAbility to solve practical problemsAdherence to company policies and procedures including legal requirementsKnowledge of Health and Safety LegislationsComputer literacy (MS Office)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsSound verbal and written communication skillsSHE Audit experiencePerson SpecificationHigh standard of numeracy, accuracy with attention to detailA team player with flexible approach and a willingness to learnA self-starter who is proactive and can set and achieve goalsStrong organizational skillsHard working with a proven track record of skilled, hands-on trade related experience required.Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the worldxe2x80x99s toughest challenges.
