Matsopa Minerals is a mining company that has open cast mines in five of the nine provinces in South Africa.This position is based at the Koppies Bentonite Mine in the Free State Province.KEY OBJECTIVE:To monitor, maintain and improve HSE systems and procedures in accordance with legal and applicable MHSA standards.

• To continuously maintain, enforce and improve Safety Policy, Objectives, Standards and Guidance consistent with company policy and Zimco Group Policy to adequately address both corporate intentions and principles and to provide a basis for the effective management of Safety, Health and Environment issues.
• To provide Safety advise, expertise and training to enable company personnel and contractors to comply with the requirements of the company Safety requirements and to develop the competence required to fulfill their roles and responsibilities.
• To identify and support the identification of Safety Hazards, evaluation of H&S risks for all activities, products and services, and the development of controls to manage and reduce these risks.
• To direct the development and maintenance of emergency response plans in order to provide clear guidance for continuous improvement in Safety performance and ensure appropriate prevention and mitigation of Safety impacts.
• To ensure the implementation and maintenance of the Safe for Life drive as well as that of the 6S, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing campaigns.

EDUCATION: Grade 12QUALIFICATION: Diploma/Degree in Safety ManagementKNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
*3 years SHE experiences in the mining industry and work with Mine Health and Safety Act & Regulations 29 of 1996, ISO 9001, 140001, 45000 SystemsOTHER:
*Computer Literacy.
