Job Summary We are seeking a seasoned SHE Quality Practitioner who will be pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the highest standards of safety and compliance across all projects and within the office environment. Your core responsibility will be to meticulously plan, implement, and oversee SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk Quality) protocols for each project. xc3x82 What youll do: SHERQ Planning: You will be entrusted with the task of formulating comprehensive SHERQ plans for all projects, identifying potential risks, and implementing necessary safety measures. Health Safety Files Management: Compile and maintain detailed Health Safety files, including contractor's packs, adhering to client-specific guidelines. These files will be submitted to the client's safety department for approval. Interaction with Mine Officials: You will liaise and obtain signoffs from mine officials concerning contractor's packs and safety file requirements and approvals. General Clerical Duties: Handle various clerical tasks, such as filing, answering telephone inquiries, preparing weekly and monthly reports, and procuring necessary supplies (PPE, Stationary, etc.). Monthly Safety Checks: Assist with conducting monthly safety checks, including but not limited to fire extinguishers and first aid supplies. Training and Induction Coordination: Manage the booking of medical exams, maintain records of medical certifications, schedule inductions, and coordinate other training requirements. Incident Management: Take charge of incident reporting and investigations, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of all incidents and the implementation of corrective actions. Sub-contractor Compliance: Provide appointed sub-contractors with SHE Specifications, review and approve there SHE files before project commencement. Auditing: Conduct monthly audits on sub-contractors' sites, assessing Site-to-Site Health and specific SHE Files. Additionally, perform regular internal audits, report findings, and diligently follow up on identified issues. Legal and Environmental Management: Coordinate all legal appointments, risk management, and environmental management, in alignment with both office and site requirements. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant safety, health, environment, and quality regulations and standards, providing guidance to project teams on compliance matters. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans, conduct drills, and train personnel to effectively respond to potential emergencies or crisis situations. Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a strong safety culture within the organization by organizing safety campaigns, initiatives, and awareness programs, encouraging active participation from all employees. Continuous Improvement: Continuously review and improve the effectiveness of SHERQ policies and procedures, implementing lessons learned from incidents and audits to enhance safety practices across projects. Prepare monthly reports as required. Edit, Format, and convert documents for approval, updating relevant registers. Report on Corrective action requests, schedule and conduct audits, and report findings. Log, follow up and report on customer feedback, support departments. Conduct annual inductions. Ensuring BMS and Iso standards are maintained and updated. Your expertise: Function-related experience: 8 years Leading teams: 3 years Projects experience: 3 years (Incident Management Investigation / Risk Management / Business Management systems) Other experience: 5 years in Microsoft Office and relevant industry experience Qualifications: Qualification required Matric Certificate Certificates: SAMTRAC; HIRA; Incident Investigator; WAH; Introduction to Environmental Management; Fall Protection Plan Developer; Document Management Course. ISO 9001 (Introduction) ISO 9001 (Implementation) Qualification preferred ISO 9001 (Internal Auditor) ISO 45001 (Introduction) Legal Liability National Diploma in Safety Management Registered as a Professional Construction Health Safety Officer under the SACPCMP Other information applicable to the opportunity: Permanent Position Location: Gauteng Work environment: Office (occasionally) and client sites Travel: Travel to client sites Why work for us?
