Job Description
Operations & Safety (SHE):
Develop, review, and implement OHS and hygiene procedures.
Identify and control safety hazards; promote a safety-first culture.
Conduct regular safety training and toolbox talks.
Perform routine hygiene and safety inspections and audits (daily to annually).
Manage PPE:
stock control, distribution, maintenance.Maintain readiness for internal/external audits (MSHEQ, labour).
Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are followed up.
Chair monthly SHE meetings; review findings and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure contractor compliance and oversee work quality through procedures and checks.
Quality & Compliance:
Raise and manage non-conformances; ensure follow-up and validation.
Assist with competency assessments and ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards.
Communication & Reporting:
Submit monthly SHE reports and coordinate audits.
Maintain clear communication across departments.
HR & Training:
Train and assess staff on standards, procedures, and legal requirements.
Conduct refresher training and regular feedback sessions.
General Duties:
Support off-season operations and additional tasks as required by management.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 and diploma in Safety/Risk Management (SAMTRAC or similar).
Experience in Citrus/Agriculture/Food processing is a plus.
Key Competencies:
Strong leadership, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
Self-motivated, organised, and able to multitask under pressure.
Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
