In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.Guided by our purpose and our values, we enable both high performance and purposeful action as we aim to re-imagine mining to improve people's lives", delivering the metals and minerals that make modern life possible.As SHE Training & Compliance Advisor you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards throughout recruitment.
  • Assist in maintaining MQA accreditation and ensure compliance reporting regarding the Human Resource Development for Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA).
  • Custodian of a portfolio of evidence for all safety and compliance-related training.
  • Providing and coordinating Skills Programme: Occupational Health and Safety activities for Part Time/workplace representatives and Shop Stewards.
  • Manage the safety and legal liability training for Sishen Mine by ensuring that correct, updated, and relevant training material is used.
  • Gather and assist in analysing data that contribute to identifying improvement initiatives in training for the Section Manager and actively participating in initiatives.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on the progress of training and monthly.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and appropriately responded to.
  • Liaise, coordinate and monitor all training service providers to ensure that they meet required standards.
  • Management of section budget.
  • Develop with subject matter experts' e-learning content/material and ensure that content is correct and relevant.
This role is in the Contractor Performance Management (CPM) at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Performance ManagementQualifications
  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma in SHE, Project Management or Human Resources Management at NQF6 level
  • Bachelor's degree in SHE, Project Management or Human Resources Management at NQF7 is preferred
  • SA Drivers Licence
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Project and Contractor Management within a mining environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), including reporting functionalities.
  • Strong understanding of Anglo American Group Contractor Performance Management Policy (POL.GLB.SUP.004).
  • Familiarity with accounting systems and financial processes related to contractor management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain processes related to contractor procurement and management.
