Job Description

Our client is looking for a SHEQ Officer to join them in the Waste Management IndustryJob Specification:

• Meet ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and legal compliance as stipulated within the SHEQ management system and at the direction of the Compliance Manager
• Audits and or inspections to be completed on any landfills, recyclers, waste licenses and major clients
• To assist in logistical safety management requirements on checks, inspections, and compliance-related matters
• To provide SHEQ operational compliance coverage in other depots and projects i.e. integrated contracts, and new projects
• To help investigate accidents, incidents & injuries and provide root cause and containment actions
• Management of the Safety, Environmental & Quality Risk & Impact assessment program
• Conduct SHEQ training
• Mange the SHE committeesxe2x80x99 program, committee meetings, safety reps,
• Conduct facility inspections for fire hazards, general hazards infrastructure and buildings, etc.
• Manage the non-conformance system, reporting, investigation & close out
• Assist sales with SHEQ requirements and tender requirements including customer audits
• Ensure that the site activities are in line with regulatory & statuary requirements
• Ensure that permits and licenses are up to date current, make new applications, and provide SAWIS and NMBM with OES waste data
• Manage the KSF program for site improvements and projects
• To influence the SHEQ culture by changing the mindset of employees
• To ensure and encourage sound Environmental, Safety and Health and Quality practices
• To liaise directly with the Regional and Compliance managers on sensitive matters
• To make NO statements on any incident and or practices that may seem untoward without the prior consent of the regional manager
• Obey any instructions in connection with SHEQ and compliance activities

Qualification:

• Diploma in Safety Management or SAMTRAC or RISKMAQ or a recognized SHEQ officer training
• Operational experience 1-2 years
• SHEQ experience 1- 2 years
• ISO knowledgeable (at least one 9001, 14001, or 45001)
