Look no further! My client in HOWICK (KZN) is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SHER Manager to oversee and enhance their safety, health, environment, and risk management programs.
With at least 5 years of proven experience in the field as well as your ISO, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• ISO (14001 and 45001)
• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.
• SAMTRAC qualification is advantages.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SHER Manager in the manufacturing industry.
• Environmental management system qualification.
• NEBOSH certification.
• HIRA training.

Responsibilities:

• Policy Development and Implementation:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety, health, environmental, and risk management policies and procedures.
• Ensure policies are aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Compliance Assurance:

• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, provincial and national safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address non-compliance issues.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
• Implement measures to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.
• Training and Awareness:

• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness of safety, health, and environmental issues.
• Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
• Incident Investigation:

• Lead investigations into safety incidents, accidents, and environmental spills.
• Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Emergency Response Planning:
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address potential workplace emergencies.
• Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
• Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and submit regulatory reports related to safety, health, and environmental performance.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
• Implement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of the SHER program.
