Shift Engineer - Cape TownFull job description:Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on all mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, generators, HVAC systems, and plumbing systems Monitor and maintain the ship's fuel, water, and oil levelsTroubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issuesCoordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasksKeep detailed records of all maintenance and repair workFollow all safety protocols and proceduresTrain and supervise junior engineering staffAssist with the installation and commissioning of new equipmentParticipate in emergency drills and respond to emergencies as neededQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years of experience as a Shift Engineer on a cruise ship or similar vesselStrong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and diagramsExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work long hours and shifts as needed Working Place:Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa Report job
