Shift Mechanical Fitter - DurbanFull job descriptionHendok has an exciting opportunity in our Maintenance Department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience based in Durban as a Mechanical Fitter. The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.Key PurposeTo use their tools and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant machinery and equipment to operational standardsResponsibilitiesMaintain mechanical drives as well as hydraulic and pneumatic componentsMachine reliability and availability delivered as per regional targets - preventative maintenance schedules executed, develop and upgrade maintenance schedules for plant and equipmentProvide technical expertise and guidance to process teams - operating procedures, fault findingProvide project support with regards to commissioning machines and equipment or pilot and test a new technical serviceParticipate as functional problem solvingIdentify opportunities for innovation (Installation upgrades, enhancements and shared learnings)Control logistical flow of machine components and materials (Stores, materials)Address safety, health and environmental requirements and hazards.Monitor and control quality control practices in a manufacturing / engineering environment.Key attributes and competenciesAble to work under pressure and handle constructive feedbackAccountability, Credibility and IntegrityFault Finding and ExecutionPerform Mechanical MaintenanceInnovation and Continuous ImprovementAbility to work shiftsQualifications / ExperienceN3/N4 National Certificate in Mechanical EngineeringFitter Trade Test (or related Turner / Millwright)5 Years experience within a similar environmentThe advert has minimum requirements listed.
