It starts with YOU.In this role, you will:Operate production equipment in accordance with the required safety, housekeeping , quality and production standards.Safety:xc2xb7 Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) rules and regulations at all times. (e.g.,10 critical safety rules and three obligations)Quality:xc2xb7 Check for visual defects and measure basic parameters to ensure compliance with quality standardsxc2xb7 Take appropriate corrective actionxc2xb7 Make adjustments to the machine on instruction from the Quality Associatexc2xb7 Report problems outside of incumbent scope to Team LeaderHousekeeping:xc2xb7 Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5s housekeeping standardsxc2xb7 Report all damages or defective equipment as and when damage occursProductivity:xc2xb7 Communicate with outgoing counterpart (hand over)xc2xb7 Check for housekeeping and safety opportunitiesxc2xb7 Prepare and load raw materials and packaging as required on the machinexc2xb7 Run the machine, monitor and make minor adjustments to machine settings to maintain quality, waste and productivity standardsxc2xb7 Report any major deviations or defects to Team Leaderxc2xb7 Participate in change overs as requiredxc2xb7 Participate in changing operational supplies (consumables)xc2xb7 Provide assistance to Team Leader as instructedxc2xb7 Record relevant production information in appropriate logbook accuratelyAbout YouYou perform at the highest level possible, and you appreciate a performance culture fueled by authentic caring. To succeed in this role, you will need the following requirements:

  • Trade Tested Mechanical with N4 or equivalent tertiary qualification. (Red Seal)
  • Minimum of at least 4 years post trade test experience in a Manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of pulp & paper will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, gearboxes, mechanical rollers, belt drives, chain drives and general knowledge of mechanical systems associated with manufacturing environments.
  • Technical and Process knowledge of the Pulp & Paper environment.
  • An incumbent that can work standby on a rotational basis
  • An incumbent with a Mill wide mechanical engineering fault find skills.
  • Logical problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An incumbent that can work independently.
