A Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations during a specific shift at a workplace. They manage and oversee the work of employees during their shift, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes assigning duties, providing guidance, and monitoring performance. Liaise with civil authorities in case of emergencies. Uphold the client's values and principles at all times.
Minimum requirements:
Access Control experience
2-3 years Previous Supervisory experience (Overseeing between 10 to 100 employees)
Work well within a team
Good health (no chronic conditions that will influence daily tasks)
No criminal record
No current disciplinary record (past 12 months)
Excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal)
Fully computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Problem-solving skills and conflict resolution abilities
Must have leadership skills and competencies
Must be very presentable and physically fit
Must have experience working in a corporate environment
Must be able to work under pressure
Must reside in and around JHB area
Qualifications:
PSIRA Grade A Registered for a minimum of 2 years
Grade 12
Supervisory/inspector qualification, including but not limited to:
Security administration
OB and IB books
Logistics, equipment
Site inspection
Off duty and on duty senior responsibilities on site
Personnel management
Vehicle inspections
Radio communication
Managing day to day issues. One day workshop.
Discipline in the workplace and disciplinary hearings. One day workshop
Must have current minimum level 3 medical training.
Current Firefighter Course
JPX Training
Kidnapping & Extorsion Training
Must have Firearm Competency (Handgun). Must pass Regulation 21 BP shooting.
Driver's license minimum code 8 (At least 3 years driving experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily schedules, employee shifts and time-off requests.
Assign duties to employees and oversee their progress.
Train and integrate new workers.
Provide guidance and feedback to employees when needed.
Ensure industry rules and regulations are followed.
Handle employee complaints.
Resolve conflicts between employees.
Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures.
The supervision of security officers and guards.
Attend meetings with client and Contract Manager to determine operational needs.
Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events.
Review reports on incidents and breaches.
Investigate and resolve issues.
Create reports for management on security status.
Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology.)
