Western Cape, CPT - Boquinar Industrial Area(Market related)Our client in the Services Industry based in the Boquinar Industrial Area, Cape Town is currently looking to employ a Shift Supervisor.Duties:

• Supervision of Washline Attendants and Team Leaders who are required to perform manual labour tasks relating to the process of emptying, washing, disinfecting, drying and chemical filling the PFTs (portable flush toilets) and containerized toilets to improve the quality of the cleaning process.
• Oversee the performance wash line attendants and train, motivate and optimise production rate & quality of outputs.
• Give guidance / direct & control to contractors delivering to and collecting from the facility.
• Facilitate and control safety, maintenance and cleaning required internal / by contractors.
• Monitor the quality of the work performed on site by contractor / internal staff.
• Communicate Toolbox talks.
• Monitor and control chemical stocks, make-up of chemical solutions, quality control.
• Assist with HR related issues such as timekeeping, leave forms, HR queries, discipline etc.
• Supervision of housekeeping tasks to achieve the required standard.
• Supervision of the loading and unloading of vehicles / trucks and ensure that materials/goods are stored / disposed of correctly.
• Carry out sampling of raw effluent and wash water as per weekly schedule.
• Monitoring of production wash water supply.
• Takes good care of all tools and equipment used in the performance of all tasks - to prevent loss / damage of assets.
• Gives effective assistance so that maintenance and repair work is carried out effectively.
• Report all defects timeously.
• Request for skip exchange when due.
• Attend to discharge line blockages and remain with contractors until task is completed.
• Investigate cause of power outage if it not Load shedding Schedule.
• Actively learns & apply all required aspects of the job and implement continuous improvement.
• Perform general maintenance and repair work as may be required.
• Monitor all operational equipment for availability, blockages and performance before & during operation.
• Ensure that all H&S regulations are adhered to.
• Obey any reasonable and legal instruction issued.
• Liaise with contractors to address all issues of non-conformance on- site.

Qualifications & Experience:Minimum Requirements:

• Matric Certificate with Maths and Science passed.
• 3 years relevant experience supervising staff and maintenance.
• N3 Water&Waste Water Treatment will be an advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel will be advantageous.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Troubleshoot problems to develop and improve on procedures.
• Must know how to handle chemicals safely, make dilutions and control stock & storage.
• Good numeracy skills and accurate detailed record keeping and producing reports with calculations is required.
• Be medically fit - medical fitness & drug test will be performed before appointment.
• General safe use of equipment and tools.
• Provide proof of residing in the nearby community.
• Understand and carry out instructions.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to form productive teams.
• Possess a good work ethic i.e. hard-working person.
• High perception of health and safety.
• Good communication interpersonal skills.
