Our client in the Insurance industry is seeking an experienced and skilled Short-Term Insurance Underwriter to join their team to be based in George, Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing risk, making informed underwriting decisions, and providing exceptional customer service.Job Title: Short-Term Insurance UnderwriterLocation: George, Western CapeJob Type: PermanentMinimum Qualification Criteria:
- Matric
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Insurance, Risk Management or related field would be advantageous
- Short-term Insurance Qualification (Compulsory)
- RE 5 (Must be currently registered)
- FAIS Compliant
- Completed Supervision
- Product Specific Training
- Class of Business xe2x80x93 Commercial and/or Personal Lines
- CPD hours in current cycle
- Experience on CIMS360 would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite xe2x80x93 Word, Excel, Outlook
- Evaluate and assess risk for new and renewal business
- Make informed underwriting decisions within delegated authority levels
- Conduct risk assessments and analyze data to determine premiums
- Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service to brokers and clients
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives
- Experience with insurance software and systems
- Knowledge of regulatory framework governing short-term insurance
- Strong technical underwriting skills
