Job description
This is a summary of what the job involves to help you decide if you are a good fit.
Sign writers start by making rough sketches based on given instructions and planning the lettering design. They measure the area where the letters will go, marking the letter positions with chalk to ensure they're spaced correctly. Then, they paint the sign, making sure the paint is even and the outlines are clear. They add a second coat of paint after the first one dries. Sign writers often place signs on store windows using different methods for painting on glass. They use gold leaf for gold letters, usually backed with paint. Sometimes, they also paint simple logos and illustrations.
