Gauteng, JHB - Eastern SuburbsR20,000 - R22,000 Monthly Cost To Company (Company vehicle, fuel card, cell phone and laptop)Our client, operating in the energy sector and based in Germiston, Johannesburg; is currently looking to employ a Site / Contracts Manager to their team.An awesome career opportunity awaits you!Requirements:

• Higher education in Construction management/ building studies, quantity surveying or related.
• Previous experience within a similar position is essential; minimum 3 years experience working in a Contracts Manager position or a related management position.
• Health and Safety Training (Imperative)
• Computer literate - understanding of Microsoft Office (other programs advantageous).
• Industrial Relation skills (i.e. know how to handle staff effectively, discipline etc).
• Be able to understand and communicate in English and Afrikaans.
• Experience in interpreting engineering plans and drawings essential.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:1. Site Management:

• Ensuring all assigned projects are complete within budget and according to deadline dates.
• Inspecting assigned sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
• Supervising and instructing the teams as well as subcontractors on each site.
• Ensuring material management and employee management for each site.
• Measure work for clients for invoicing and quotation purposes.

2. Labour Relations and Employee Management:

• Dealing with Trade Unions (if applicable) and staff grievances.
• Ensuring that all staff under your direct supervision follow company and onsite company health and safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Calculating and updating daily staff timesheets according to time worked and handing to Operations Manager.
• Offer to train and help a junior or struggling fitter or Lagger when he/she is struggling with a task.

3. Health, Safety, and Environmental:

• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures and legal obligations.
• Handling site accidents in accordance with established accident protocol.
• Do monthly audits/ updates on site safety file.

4. Quality:

• Carry out QCP's on jobs with photos supplied on phases / layers until completion to ensure a functional as well as aesthetically pleasing finished product.

5. Customer Relations:

• Meeting with clients to find out their requirements and consult with clients on the best option to suit their needs.

6. Ad hoc:

• Toolbox talks.
• Toolbox inspections.
• Vehicle inspections.
• Be willing to work overtime when needed in order to meet deadlines.
