Oversee the daily operations on the construction site to ensure work is progressing as per the schedule and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance to the team, resolving any engineering-related issues that arise on-site.
Project Management:
Assist in managing the construction program, including scheduling work, monitoring site progress, and ensuring adherence to budgets.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with the design specifications, and industry standards. Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship.
Safety Compliance:
Implement and enforce health and safety standards on-site, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring a safe working environment for all site personnel.
Collaboration:
Work closely with architects, project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth communication and problem resolution.
Site Documentation:
Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, inspection reports, and progress reports.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit regular reports on site progress, issues, delays, and costs to the project manager.
Resource Management:
Monitor and manage site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring optimal utilization.
Surveys and Measurements:
Conduct surveys and set out construction works to ensure the work is carried out according to the drawings, specifications, and legal requirements.
Material Management:
Ensure proper material planning, delivery, and usage on-site, tracking inventory levels to avoid shortages or delays.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience 5 + in a site engineering role within the construction industry.
Technical Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
Software Skills:
Proficiency in construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
Time Management:
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure the timely completion of the project.
Health & Safety:
A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in managing large-scale or complex construction projects.
Additional certifications in health and safety will be a added advantage.
