Job Description
The ideal person will be in possession of at least an N6 or Engineering degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.Must be in possession of GCC / or in the process of acquiring a GCC within 6 months from the date of appointment, with 2- 4 years of relevant experience or alternatively a Graduate Engineer who has a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate practical experience in operations and maintenance, appropriate to the class of machinery. (Or is a Certificated Engineer.)Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years relevant management experience.
- Relevant completed Trade Tests are essential (3 Phase electrical Trade Test, etc.).
- Responsible for electrical, mechanical, scales, refrigeration, grounds & buildings and Rendering and Boilers plants.
- Planning maintenance schedules for Plant machinery.
- Obtaining quotations and ordering spares.
- Controlling and eliminating breakdowns.
- Ensuring optimum water, electricity, and coal consumption.
- Projects and costing.
- Continuous improvement.
- Budgeting and financial controls including cost savings.
- Stock control over engineering equipment.
- Driving HACCP systems for both the processing plant and the Maintenance Department to ensure all-inclusive compliance.
- Responsible for Health & Safety and accident / incident investigations for the Maintenance Department.
- Management and training of maintenance employees including KPIs.
- Minimising Plant down-time.
- Future planning to ensure maximum efficiency of the Plant.
