Site HSE - Cape TownFull job descriptionJob descriptionJob Summary:The Site HSE officer is responsible for ensuring compliance on health, safety and environment guidelines onsite. The Site HSE officer will advise on HSE related matter, conduct regularly site audits and assist with enforcing preventative measures. The role is to promote a safe work environment, provide HSE training and investigate incidents/accidents to improve overall safety.Requirements:Registered with SACPCMPValid South African driverxe2x80x99s License Code 08Medically fitMust be willing to working away from home regularly to perform site audits, HSE related trainings etc.Minimum of two (2) years working experience as a safety officerAuditing experienceExperience in incident investigation and problem solving skillsSkills, Knowledge & UnderstandingGood Report writing and presentation skillsGood oral and written communication skillsComputer Literate with Intermediate level in MS OfficeDetailed understanding and sound knowledge of local HSE legislation i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act and Construction Regulations and other requirements and their application in the workplaceAdvantages:Valid SAMTRAC certificate and/or NEBOSH certificatePrevious experience of ISO 9001,14001, 45001 and managing systemsGood Knowledge and experience in practical safety preferably in the wind industryKey Tasks:Perform regular site audits to ensure HSE compliance onsite.Assist with promoting and assisting managers in determining optimum working practices through risk assessments and work closely with the team to deliver effective HSE management systems.Assist with facilitating in-house HSE training to all relevant parties.Generate and promote a positive health and safety culture and minimise environmental impact to a practical minimum.Assist with performing risk assessment process and method statements and advise on risk reduction measures.Assist Line Managers to identify training needs to ensure HSE compliance.Ensure that all incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health as well as environmental incidents are fully recorded and investigated, including recommendations to avoid recurrence.Undertake investigations to determine the cause of HSE breaches onsite.Assist Executive Committee, Line Managers and Supervisors to ensure compliance of HSE policies, procedures and codes of practice.Liaise with industry bodies, agencies and similar organization's concerned with promoting best practice in the field of occupational health, safety and welfare.Provide guidance, advice and support to Line Managers and Project Managers regarding workplace assessments and any resulting modifications or measures to assist any members of staff returning to work following illness or injury, ensuring compliance with the relevant local legislation.Support the team on daily operations with regards to HSE compliance.Assist with facilitating and leading initiatives and projects in HSE, including campaigns and awareness.Provide monthly HSE reporting.Perform ad-hoc duties from time to time, as requested.General:Interested applicants who meet the above specifications should submit :Detailed CVCopy of relevant qualificationNote: If you have not been contacted within 2 weeks after the closing date of the advertisement, kindly consider your application as unsuccessful.We reserve the right not to fulfil this position.Job Type: Full-timeExperience:Safety Officer: 2 years (Required)License/Certification:South African Driver`s License (Required)SACPCMP Registration (Required)Application Deadline: 2024/08/09Job Types: Full-time, PermanentApplication Deadline: 2024/08/09
